We live between two trees. One brings death and destruction; the other, life and restoration. The first tree haunts humanity, explaining the brokenness of our world, the distortion of our hearts, and the relentless presence of pain and suffering.
The second tree, though, feels almost elusive as we navigate this world—like a dream too good to be true, a hope that seems distant yet beckons us forward. But in between these two trees stands another—a tree at the very heart of Easter.
This tree was laid on the back of a Galilean carpenter, hoisted up to fasten the crucified Christ, and held the lifeless body of the Messiah His final breath completing the atoning sacrifice. This is the tree that bridges the gap between the two trees — the tree that makes the impossible, possible!
