Go ahead, admit it. You just read the title and you’re singing that song in your head, aren’t you? Or, you are on the younger side and you’re thinking those words would make great song lyrics? Too late, Kool and the Gang beat you to it!
When was the last time you celebrated? What was the last event you had a party for? We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, retirements, all sorts of notable happenings, and oodles of holidays. God created us to celebrate.
God crafted entire feasts in the Old testament designed to celebrate. The Christmas story is full of celebration. The father celebrated when the prodigal returned home. And one day there will be great time of celebration when Jesus returns to set up the new kingdom.
This Sunday is Super Sunday at Aldersgate! And we are going to celebrate! We set aside this Sunday each year to applaud all the things God has been doing in and through us. And we have a lot of fun with it because parties are fun, right? So wear your favorite team shirt or jersey if you have one. Bring your good times and your laughter too. Come ready to tailgate because we are gonna celebrate your party with you!
I can’t wait to see you Sunday! We will celebrate good times. So, come on!
