We believe when God’s Word is proclaimed it produces fruit. It never returns empty. And it always prospers. It accomplishes everything that God wants it to. That’s why we are reading through the entire Bible in 120 hours!
That’s right! We will read through the entire Bible – Genesis to Revelation – in the Worship Center at Aldersgate. We will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 31 with the first chapter of Genesis and end at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 5th (or before) with the last chapter of Revelation.
AND WE WANT YOU TO BE A PART!
It’s really easy to do. You simply sign up for a one hour reading time (or more). You’ll come to the Worship Center at Aldersgate a little before the top of the hour that you have chosen to read. When the person reading before you gets to a stopping point, you’ll pick up reading where that person has left off. We will read from one Bible during these five days. We have chosen to read from the ESV translation. So, there is no need to bring your own Bible.
You’ll mark your name and the date/time you beginning reading in the margins of the Bible. And then just read normally for the next hour. Read at your own pace. Read audibly out loud as though anyone in the Worship Center would be able to hear you. We want the Word of God proclaimed in our worship space!
Feel free to stand at the podium, sit in a chair, or walk around as you read. The Worship Center will more than likely be empty but there may be others sitting there soaking up the Word of God. There’s no need to worry about coming across a word or name that you don’t know how to pronounce. Just do the best you can. God knows your heart!
And His Word promises (Isaiah 55:11) that fruit will happen! His Word will not return void! God’s purposes will be accomplished!
